Nowadays, tarps are used for all domestic and industrial uses. The Covid-19 pandemic has also increased the use of tarps, more specifically: plastic tarps. However, there are multiple variants available of every type. For example, while purchasing a colored canvas tarp, there are two variants available. These are treated colored canvas tarp and untreated canvas tarp. The treated canvas tarp is mixed with multiple chemicals in a machine making it waterproof. The untreated water tarp is not treated with any chemicals. That’s why it is not waterproof. 

Though both the tarps are suitable for camping (as they allow airflow through them) but treated canvas tarps are more efficient. Because of this, the treated canvas tarp is also referred to as Multi-Purpose tarps.

Ground Cover: The canvas tarps are washable. People can use them as ground cover. However, the only thing to make sure of is there are no sharp objects and stones on the ground. The canvas tarps are vulnerable to wear and tear  

Emergency Covers: Having a canvas tarp is the best idea as it works in almost every situation. For example, while painting, it helps in covering the objects or while dividing the spaces for privacy concerns.

The plastic tarp is another type of multi-purpose tarp. It also has many uses. However, the debate about environment-friendliness is always a concern. In covid-19, the sales of plastic tarps have gradually increased. Accordingly, people should behave responsibly while disposing of the same.

For Division of Space: Plastic tarps are perfect for the division of space in covid-19. In the above discussion, there is a point about how canvas tarps are great for the division of spaces as they allow air. However, the current need is to divide space by creating a barrier between multiple sides. This barrier is important to reduce the spread of covid-19. Mostly, cab drivers are using them to create four isolated chambers in cars. Thus, all the passengers reach the destination safely and the chances of spread of covid-19 are minimal. 

To Reduce the Electricity Bills: Shopkeepers cannot use wooden or opaque doors in summers. As they are using air conditioners inside the shops, they need to close the doors otherwise the air escapes. The only solution to the above problem is by creating transparent doors. Thus, plastic doors are the best in solving this problem. After implementing them, the customers can easily see what’s inside the shop and also the air is trapped. This way the usage of air conditioners and the electricity bills are low. Also, if plastic tarps are disposed of responsibly, the environment gets benefitted in multiple ways.
